Your first attempt isn’t supposed to be good. In fact, it’s expected to be messy, chaotic and full of rough edges. The point of that first draft is to get your thoughts out of your head and onto the page without judging yourself. Once the raw version exists, you can shape it, refine it and turn it into something solid.
